Rick Krens started his career at General Electric in Europe where he stayed for 17 years and has held various positions in finance, supply chain, commercial and M&A at GE Capital.
After this period, he worked for Stanley Europe (Hand Tools), as Cash Flow Director in Belgium and thereafter for Black & Decker (Power Tools) in the UK for 5 years as European Finance Director and VP Lean Six Sigma to embed the principles and the culture within the company.
Then he joined Grohe in Germany, a leading provider of water technology solutions for 2 years. Grohe is a private equity backed company owned by TPG.
His most recent position was 5 years at Oaktree Capital in London, a global private equity company with $84bn under assets. His title was SVP with the portfolio enhancement team where he was responsible for the management of the portfolio companies. The experiences within distressed, turnaround and start-up situations of business partnering include various markets and businesses ranging from Spirits (Stock Spirits), Ice cream (R&R), Packaging (Nordenia), Retail (Conbipel), Shipping (Beluga,Gulmar), Luxury goods (Bavaria Yachts), Meat (Campofrio/Smithfield) and Advertising (Stroeer).
